Should Obama step aside for Hillary?

At an average of five hours per trip to the links, Obama has spent the equivalent of two months of his presidency's available working time on the golf course. Of course, that doesn't even count the hours traveling in presidential motorcades to and from the courses. It also doesn't count any time he spends on the White House putting green. Obama doesn't typically golf with top advisors so these are "working" outings.

He's not a shift worker at McDonalds like you. His working hours don't run from 9-5 Monday through Friday.

I'd like to see Hillary run. Obama has had his chance and he jsut can't get along with the opposition. Let him golf full time!

Yah like you care about helping the Dems.

HRC is done with politics. Who can blame her after 2008? What would BO be saying if he moved her to VP? "I need help"? Ain't gonna happen.

Very tough to win with the current and projected jobless numbers. Not a good outlook.

She's only done because she thinks she can't win what she thinks should be hers. If she could be nominee I don't think she would be done.

Hillary is a better candidate now than in 08 because she has foreign policy experience. The best thing going for her is that she has little if any responsibility for the Obama economic mess.

Of course she is, and Obama is a better candidate because he's actually been president.

The fact that the economy has been dragging is not proof of Obama's incompetence. Governments don't control the economy. And if you cripple them by preventing them from spending enough, it's even worse.

Hillary will run -- and win -- in 2016.

At age 69 she'll defeat President Gingrich? Dream on. She had her chance and lost out to BO. She would stand a better chance of winning in 2012 but that won't happen either.
Her opportunity has past and she knows it.

I think her opportunity has passed. I am not a fan of Hillary, but I think she would have been much better for this country than BO. Missed opportunity.

Actually I think the decision not to regulate hedge funds was made by the Clinton White House at the behest of Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin, et al. Fannie and Freddie were full of former Clinton WH staff. The 2008 meltdown had a lot in common with the Titanic: many players had to screw up and did. She was not part of that decision but we did get 2 for the price of 1 so some of the stink is on her. Not to mention all the other baggage and drama that the Clintons brought. Then there's all the money that has been donated to Bill's Global Whatever Fund by anonymous sources. Not to mention the unmined data in the Clinton Library. She may look like the Glinda the Good Witch of the South now but there are a lot shadowy figures around the Clintons.

Never say never. In December 1967, LBJ had a lock on the DEM nomination. Things went south and on March 31, 1968 LBJ shocked the nation when he announced he would not run for re-election by concluding with the line: "I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your President"

Not saying BO will do the same, but if things become even worse in the next few months it is possible. And Hillary would be the logical candidate. Not likely, but possible.

The one thing I feel comfortable saying about having HRC instead of BO is that we'd be having this same conversation about how much better off we'd be if it had been Obama instead of Clinton.

OMG we know we know. Some of us were alive then. But this isn't Vietnam, the party is not split like then, and this is not LBJ fearing he would not live through his second term of office due to illness. This is a president who has accomplished a lot of his agenda but who has a stagnant economy slowing him down. He's got a number of disappointed lefties, but they are people who could never vote Republican.

Anything can happen, but I'm not headed to the NBA and Obama is not going to step down.

I think Bonnie Frank deserves the lion's share of credit for Fannie.
