I agree with the advice to go with whichever one of the family names you like the most, as a number are either bordering on caricatures or very popular now. If one of them is your mother's maiden name (assuming you are the mother yourself), I would pick that one (whatever it is).
Personally, I don't mind Brooks but then I had a friend named Phelps growing up. And yes, he did go to one of the big-3 Ivies eventually. |
yikes stay away from giving last names as first names. that is just so odd |
| No. No. No. |
| Sorry, OP, but you have terrible taste in names, bordering on ridiculous. You might want to outsource this decision. |
| Just name him after your husband and tack on II. Isn't that the WASPier high ground in this situation? |
This post was so unnecessarily unkind. Shame on you. |
| I have to agree that this is one of the lists where I can't find any name I like at all, but I might like Bode the best on the theory that the jerk skier balances out the WASPiness a little bit. |

What about
Door Brake Chase Woodley Chisel |

How bout Bodie?
he's my favorite character from the Wire. though I have a feel that's not what you're looking for. I think Blake is fine--kind of 1980s, but by the time the kid grows up no one will really think about that. Parker is okay, but not that special. Don't like the others so much. |
I went to an Ivy League law school a decade ago, and there were two guys both named Brooks there when I was there, and they both had the same last name too! (They were not related). One was totally WASPy in background and demeanor, the other was not. Personally, I like Brooks the best out of your list. I have 3 boys and it was on my list of contenders this last go-round. If we go for a 4th I will probably consider it again.
