Curious about thoughts on any of the following:
Parker Blake Tucker Brooks Bode Penn |
| The all sound like the name of the jerky male character in an 80s teen movie. |
| Parker is a great name |
| Penn was on my list but my DH vetoed it. I really like it but I don't care for any of the others. They sound pretentious and WASPy to me. Besides, Tucker rhymes with F@#$er. |
| Sorry, I agree with 12:03 and 12:08. Are there any classic names you like? |
| Horrid. Pretentious, and sound like you think you they area klassy, but you don't realize that they mark you as exactly what you are not. |
| Sorry OP, but these are all terrible. |
| Sorry, OP, but I don't care for any of them. Of the list, Parker and Blake are the most OK, in my opinion. |
|
Does sound like you're already filling out his application for Scull and Bones.
That said, I kinda like Penn. |
| I like the name Parker, it's on my boys name list |
|
I like Parker and Penn. I think Bode is kind of neat but you will get a lot of "that doesn't bode well...."
The list that you compiled seems to be of one vein of names. You probably wouldn't have been chewed out if you threw a couple Jacks and Matthews in there for good measure. Have you thought about exploring more classic names? William or John are probably better long-term choices. FWIW, I really like Carter (and all the Carters I have met) and it seems to fit well with your list. I named my DC something very traditional, not super popular, but a family name that doesn't fit with any particular trend. For us it was the best long-term name choice. Do the boss test. And then the Supreme Court test (I think I made that up)... |
| I dislike all of them, but that seems to be the direction boys' names are headed. So at least your son would fit in with his peers. My 2 yr old's daycare class has a Finn, Brady, Seaton and Walker. BTW, Carter is a really, really popular name in the South and has been for awhile now. |
| I like Parker. Blake is...not great, but not awful. The rest are truly terrible. Brooks makes me want to poke my eyes out so I don't have to read it. |
| Parker. |

I like Parker and Brooks.
Blake was a red neck name when I was growing up, as was Blain. |
