What do you think of this ring for everyday?

10:09 here, thank you. I kind of got slammed for my comment, but it just kills me that some people have more money than they know what to do with and some people are literally not getting enough food and are probably cold, among many other problems....

You're ridiculous. I'd never spend $8,200 on jewelry (my wedding bad cost less than $8.20), but if it's killing you to know that people are spending thousands on jewelry while others starve, get your wasteful ass off DCUM and go get a second job and donate all money earned to homeless shelters.

Sorry, but that is an ugly ring.

For a statement ring, I would look for something that isnt halo shaped like this one. This one to me looks a bit like the center stone is missing - it reminds me of when we looked for engagement rings and all how the settings didnt have the center stone. Have you looked on neiman's website?

I thinks someone got her comeuppance.

That particular ring does not look very well made or stylish for eight grand. If you've got it to spend, make it worth it! Do you hate enamel? If you arenot averse to it: http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?fromGrid=1&sku=GRP04988&mcat=148204&cid=287466&search_params=s+5-p+8-c+287466-r+-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+

I have two Schlumberger pieces that were, for the money, very well made and beautiful. Also, go to a Tiffany store if you can. There are some pieces that don't appear online for whatever reason.

OP, I was going to say that you don't have to be getting engaged to get a nice ring for yourself. (I wouldn't go into debt over it or for an engagement ring for that matter).

This one made me think a little of the Oprah logo, but I think a circle/o-theme should be pretty do-able for a nice fashion ring. I like the Tiny Jewel Box in DC which sells vintage/estate sale jewelry. Maybe you will have good luck with the black Friday sales!

Seriously. 10:09, I'm assuming you're accessing DCUM from the public library, right? It makes me sick to think of you owning your own computer when people are starving. And I hope all the homeless people you are hostin for thanskgiving enjoy your turkey. I know you'd never be so selfish as to gorge yourself without giving most of it to the poor. I'm sure your kids will miss getting presents on Christmas but I'm sure they understand that toys are frivolous luxuries and your money is much better spent doing good deeds. You are SO beautiful.

Looks like a ring Oprah produced, she's got the O market.

PP, wow, I really feel sorry for you. Where did all your anger come from? You're the most unpleasant poster I've come across on DCUM. Do you think it's funny and charming to be so sarcastic and nasty. Can't you make your point without being sarcastic and ridiculous?

The OP found a ring that everyone thought looked cheap and not attractive. I suggested she could probably find a ring that cost less than 8200 and she would then have some extra money to donate to a needy family or some other charity because, in addition to helping some one eat that otherwise would be hungry, it would make HER FEEL GOOD. And yes, I give a lot to charity and my kids volunteer at a soup kitchen. If she feels that she can't find a nice ring for under 8000 that's her choice, but I was making a suggestion that she might get more out of part of her money than a ring that no one likes.

Turn the ring into wine.

I mean, it really depends on what it looks like on your hand. But I prefer a stronger statement. Maybe something like this?
