| Why are so many people hacked off by this? I don't recall all this hate with the long line of politicians who did stuff like this before? Is what he did worst? |
| I'm irritated by the lying. What he did is a lot less than many of the recent scandals (Vitter, Ensign, Edwards, Lee, etc.) |
| I think all the politicians commenting on Wiener should be asked if they are having an affair, cheated on their s/o, sent pictures of their junk, paid for sex, etc. It would be interesting? |
| it's the lying that pisses people off. the blatant, bold-faced lying. the kind where he turned the tables on those asking the questions and tried to shame them. good for dana bash of cnn. she stood right up to him. |
| Frankly, for me it's not just the lying. It's the pure stupidity that someone is his position would think he could do this that bothers me. Putting pictures of yourself out for the world to see is nothing other than reckless. Someone with such poor judgement shouldn't be politics in this day and age. |
So you want Vitter out, too, right? |

While I do feel sorry for the pain and the humiliation his wife must be going through, I really could care less what lewd anything anybody tweets anybody else (except juveniles, of course). However, this kind of conduct bothers me much more in a Republican office holder than in a Democrat, because the Republicans define themselves as the guardians of the country's morality and are the ones purporting to teach the rest of us about the sanctity of marriage and who it's reserved for, or what family planning choices (or lack thereof) a woman gets to have. Democrats make no such claims.
I'd have no problem with him remaining in office, since he was doing a good job. And as far as "exhibiting conduct worthy of the office" or however they word it, the ship has long sailed on that notion as having your hands in the pocket of special interests, as all of them do, is far more reprehensible (i.e., it has real consequences for the rest of us). And, uh, if you don't think college students are consensual adults...you obviously didn't go to college. |
She didn't ASK for this tweet. It came out of nowhere and they don't know each other. That makes it nonconsensual on her part. No one is saying that a college student in general can't consent. THIS one didn't. You act like you can just send all kind of crap to anyone and just because they're an adult it's A-OK. You make no sense at all. |
Lee was chasing women, but I don't think he was emailing photos of his penis to women he was chatting with. Not sure what is worse. |
Absolutely (especially since his behavior was so hypocritical)! Although one could argue that Weiner gets the dumbass award for sending pictures of himself out for the world to see. At least most prostitutes are discreet. |
Interesting philosophical question. Lee was looking for action on Craigslist, so women had to have some interest in his body. On the other hand, he was claiming to be single, which he wasn't. So the women who might have been interested in a single guy weren't interested in him -- he didn't meet the specs. |

Did any of the pictures actually show private parts. I thought he was wearing
underwear. If so, I have seen less on the beaches in OC and Miami. |
there is a dick-shot out on the net now. |

Even if someone holds a public office, I don't care about their sexual perversions. I care about them doing their job, and in my opinion promiscuity and being a shitty spouse doesn't factor into the equation. The majority of public figures lie when confronted, because affairs, sex tapes, sex scandals are private matters.
So unless the blow job from their intern is preventing them from balancing the budget, ending the war, lowering unemployment, etc - I don't care. |
Yes, that's it. It's the pure full-out dumbness of the move. |
