Personal appearance doesn't have much to with cheating. Think about:

1) Sandra Bullock
2) Mrs. Spitzer
3) and Maria Shriver

Now see if you can remember the mistresses. Unlike the above named wives, they were all pretty unattractive...

Well, I don't quite remember what Mrs Spitzer looks like.. but I remember thinking that Ashley-what's-her-face was not bad looking. At the very least, she was young and skinny.
