Bumping bc my daughter, born at 37 weeks, just turned 1 wk old. So far she is a dream sleeper and eater; wondering if there is a delay according to gestational age for her developments, including the potential development of reflux/colic? Our First had severe reflux and i don't remember her ever having these long restful sleeps and peaceful feedings, even in the first week, but I also don't want to be too quick to presume we are in the clear. When did your honeymoon with a 37 week gest baby wear off? Thx! |
37 weekers can be very sleepy and need a lot of coaxing to finish a full feed. It's annoying but also very sweet.
My 37 weeker was perfectly healthy but was a nipper and napper. |
If a baby has reflux it's there from birth. It doesn't usually start to cause damage and pain until about 3 to 6 weeks after birth. So that is when parents are aware there is a problem. Not in the clear yet unfortunately...... |
37 wks is fine. DS1 was 38 wks 5 days and was fine. DS2 was 35 wks 3 days and while he spent some time in the NICU, it wasn't a long stay and he was totally fine as well, just had to wait on some things to stabilize. |
My 2nd was born at 36 weeks and 6 days. He was totally fine and came home with me. He would always fall asleep breastfeeding but I pumped a lot to keep up supply. He was a little under 6lbs but my full term 38week was only 6lbs so I have small kids. |
37 weeks is considered full term. If you were to expect any delays, they would have given you the gestational age/adjusted age spiel at the hospital.
You should seriously stop worrying about this. Frankie Says Relax, dude. |
Just born at 36 wks 5 days- no problems. She's 6 lbs 13oz and nursing like a champ! |
My 37 weeks & 5 days baby slept literally 23 hours a day until her actual due date, when she suddenly woke up and started being a lot more work - it was like she was pretending she was still in the womb the first couple of weeks. Congrats on your baby! |
