Circus last night was great, by the way

I plan to go again the next time they are in town.

Well you certainly cleared that up for us. Thanks for being a shining example

this was the original post: "reminded me more of a cirque du soleil than anything else. the animals were a very small part of the act, and didn't do any bizarre tricks. Great time, all types in attendance and fun was had by all."

THAT deserves all of the vitriol??? just shows how unhinged the animals rights activists have become. cuckoo cuckoo ...

Oh, I know, right? People who care about the welfare of animals are crazy, right? It's like, what are they here for? You need to have shoes and purses, right? You need to be ignorant to what happens to what you eat, because if you knew, you wouldn't eat it anymore! And we can't have that, can we? Why should you change?

I am anti-circus myself! I don't believe in exploiting animals in such a way.

OP decided to post on this threads link into the "DCUM has changed for the worst" thread bc of all the "animal crazies," Nice one...very mature.

Please! Don't offend the pigs! OP is a lower being. Those animals are just too great to be compared to such a low form of life.

My bad you are right pp. Pigs are actually very intelligent animals, unlike OP who is human.

And they're very tasty, too.

Sure, we're getting together later for foie gras and veal piccata.

Be sure to have a side of ortolan, as well.

I eat meat. That doesn't mean I want animals treated like shit. Be a decent human being. It's really not hard.

of all of the things to be upset about, the circus seems to be about last on the list. the trapeze athletes are incredible, the asian acrobats are amazing, the clowns are entertaining, and the animals basically just walk around a few times. pretty sure my dogs know more tricks than those elephants ....

Did your dogs learn their tricks through brutality and abuse?

We all know the problem with the circus is the mistreatment of the animals behind the scenes, not the act itself. Sorry, but I'm sure most DCUM posters are not as stupid as you seem to think they are.

Actually, I posted it and I am not the OP and I think that all of you "the poor animals, don't forget the animals!" people are a little crazy. If you spent half that energy focusing on something more productive for our society than animal rights like say... fixing the economy, finding some GOOD candidates for president, reducing CO2 emissions, etc, the world would be a better place; BUT, no offense and all, saving the elephants at the circus is not going to save us from global warming or a terrorist attack. Just thought I'd let you in on that little secret.

I don't focus any more energy on it than to NOT buy tickets and go. It's pretty easy.

you missed a great time and your kids would have loved it.

We did a lot of fun things over Spring Break. My kids had a blast. None of them involved cruelty to animals. That's the great thing about this area -- so much to choose from!
