School stickers on cars.... views?

OK, seriously, I think we are just having fun with this thread. But I do like the notion that if you are sporting your kids school sticker on your car it should make you more conscientious about how you drive.

Obnoxious, if it's an elite school.
Anonymous
its only obnoxious if the person driving the car is obnoxious. or if you're obnoxious. otherwise, its just a sticker.

Had it tatooed on my a@@.

It's a MAGNET. Not a sticker. I dislike stickers but the magnet is about the community of the schools. I never thought that I would ever put anything on my car, but when you think that the kids get the education, for $30,000, all the parents really get is that LOUSY MAGNET. SO let's enjoy it in good humor.

Watch out, the pro-bragging police will come down on you like a ton of bricks. Bragging is good, didn't you know?

The thing is, what you consider elite may not be what I consider elite. So who determines the qualifications for "elite", you or the members of this forum? It's all about personal preference, just like the color, make and model of the car I choose to buy or any other decision I make for me and my family. So, let's try to lasso this high horse, on both sides of the discussion, and move on.

As a teacher, I sport one as a way of advertising the school. Especially for folks at the smaller or less well known schools, it is a good way of spreading the word. Of course, I only did this at the schools I believed in. At one school (which I promptly left), I was uncomfortable with many actions being taken, so I refused to put the sticker up. At my new school, where I am in full support of the work being done, I've got my magnet on proudly.

I saw the best (or worst) sticker the other day - "Sidwell Friends Graduated Parents". Seriously. It's time to move on.

As a sidwell parent, i'm going to have a sticker printed up that says something like $326,569 in maroon and grey and put it on the back of my car the day after graduation.

I don't even know what this means.

Hysterical. They might as well wear those hysterical tee-shirts that say, "my son/daughter and my money went to Sidwell!"

I'm with the PP way upthread. I would never put DS's school sticker on my car because I sometimes drive very aggressively and take calculated risks. Today I did a U-turn by driving over the median.

Elite is not subjective. Elite is what it is. The choice you make for your family has no bearing.
