PP, this may be true now, but it may not be in the future. One simply cannot expect that this is going to happen in every case.

I can't agree more. My brother has been nothing but a constant cause of stress and anger in my life. There is always the other side to consider.

I feel badly to hear people say that-I am sorting hoping that if have another it would be a boy because most brothers seem close (and then I would get to reuse all the cute boy clothes-ha ha! (I know it isn't always the case but I also think parenting has to be a factor in some way as far as how the kids interact? or am I totally off?)

OP, I had to laugh about your thinking you can reuse the clothes if you have another boy. That will work until about age 3 when they wear the knees out of all pants before they grow out of them. On a serious side, I am glad that my second child was a boy and I am doing whatever I can to promote a close relationship between them.

oh good point! I guess I'm just thinking of the drawer full of baby clothes that he barely wore or he grew out of ridiculously fast-that is another thing that makes me want to consider a second one-there are so many little things that I learned that would make life easier had I known them before he was born. (Like I would not have pre-made bottles and then heated them--making them to order is SO MUCH easier-plus after a c-sect I wouldn't have had my Mom running up and down the stairs constantly-I'd keep what I needed upstairs plus all the times he cried and I had to wait to warm the bottle was such a waste-I feel badly now that I know that--you can read books and talk to everyone until you are blue in the face but sometimes you just find things out on your own!
