55.

Wow I thought my number would be higher, but it's 25 for me.
And I'll go on the record to say that I hate, hate, hate Jane Erye. I read part of it before school, then re-read that part in school, and tried later in life to read it again. I don't know what it is, I just don't like it. |
I've read 68 and several have re-read. |
http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2007/mar/01/news There is the link to the list. And this is the link to the article that created it http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6405737.stm OP, where did you read about the 6 books thing? I know this made the blog rounds some time ago and no one could find that info either, and concluded that it was "made up". And, here is a website also trying to get to the bottom of it; http://www.purplecar.net/2009/03/how-do-memes-start-a-case-study-100-books-in-facebook/ |
27 - need to read more I guess.... |
I've read 56, but I counted the Bible and the Complete works of Shakespeare. I think I have read almost all of the Bible and about a third of Shakespeare. I've mainly not read more of the modern books. Some of which I think are lame to include. But, I enjoy anything that makes people talk about books. |
Agtree, utterly biazarre list. I have read more than half if not most. Admittedly, many I read in highschool or college. I am really surprised by all the light weight more recent fiction but, happily, I read all the time and many genre so I have read most of those, too. I have a 4th grade son and he seems to have inherited my love of books and joy in reading a diverse selection. ![]() |
Wow, weird list.
I've read 84. I feel kind of guilty taking credit for Shakespeare and for Hamlet, also for taking credit for books that I hated, like DaVinci |
At least 20 of these were on my high school reading list. |
45 |
53. |
43, many of which I've read multiple times. A few I think I read but can't quite remember. (Did I read The Color Purple? I own it. I saw the movie. Did I start but not finish?) But a lot of these are books I'd never read. |
Ditto. I also question a list that has The Da Vinci Code on it and Harry Potter. |
That purple car link PP posted was great. Very illuminating. |
I've read 46. And not the Da Vinvi Code or Harry Potter |
