Book list - have you read six of these?

I own every single book in the Dune series. The ones written by his son aren't as good- the original is still the best! I about fell out of my chair when my BIL said casually, "Dune? I read that. Not much storyline to it."

And I'll go on the record to say that I hate, hate, hate Jane Erye. I read part of it before school, then re-read that part in school, and tried later in life to read it again. I don't know what it is, I just don't like it.

I love, love, love the Brontes and Jane Eyre is my favorite! The story is timeless... and the madwoman in the attic... are you kidding me? "Reader, I married him."... Classic!

I don't know a more eloquent way to say it: Sucks for you that you can't get into it.

I liked Jane Eyre pretty much, but LOVE Wuthering Heights. One of my fave books, probably have read it 5 times.

NP here. I loved Wuthering Heights. One of my all tome favorites. Would never have read it but for this girl that I loved in college. She was an English major and kept telling me that I reminded her of Heathcliff. I swear, I thought that she meant the big orange cat.

I really liked lasagna.

06:46 again. For the many PPs asking about the list's composition, the link (posted by a PP) discusses this.

I've read 34. Don't understand the different between "Complete Works of William Shakespeare" and just "Hamlet"...that one seems strange to me.

I'm at 60 at least...I was an English major in college and got a Master's with an English concentration. Some of these books I would not really put on a "list" like this, though.

I've read dozens on that list, but I have a master's in English and am an avid reader. But I would think people would read more than six just by virtue of going through high school and, for some, college.

58.

Why do they subject high school kids to Moby Dick? I loved reading and that just killed me.....

46--I attended a girls' school in Virginia, and we had an extensive required reading list. Plus, I was an English minor in college.
