Wren or Ren

I really like the suggestion of Enzo. It's pretty much the only suggestion I like, actually.

Ren isn't great but it's better than Wren, which reads female to me (and also isn't great for a girl IMO). Note that Ren/Wren is a really hard name for a young kid to say.

I like old man nicknames typically but somehow not Larry.

You could just call him Lawrence, although i don't really like that either (and it sounds like you don't).

I don't care for the Law suggestion, at all.

Or could he be called by his middle name?
