Wren reads as a girls' name to me. Ren reads like Ren and Stimpy. Can you find another nickname or just go with the full Lawrence?

I think both Wren and Ren come across as girl’s names, but Ren slightly less so.

Neither is a good name.

Why not use Lawrence just as the full name or Larry or Renzo.
