You're 22. You've barely had a life. Let's hope the last four years don't prove to be your peak.

HA! Great troll post. Anyone but a Trump MAGA knows Princeton is much, much better. If you're going to NC....UNC has a nicer campus than Duke. Rolling Stone had a great article that Duke imitated itself on the Ivies...it's a major Ivy "wannabe"... that will never be. Get real.

The students are visibly happy there and have a sense of community, the facilities are top notch and the campus is stunning. My DC is waitlisted at HYPSM. It’d a tough decision if they are offered a spot. Had we not visited the campus, it’d a no brainer as some are saying. Duke is really special.

What you are going through is called "coping."
Not going through anything, thank you. We are happy. What a petty and low quality human.

Seriously why are you on this forum then? You don't sound real even if you are.

So true.

An Ivy, and at a lower cost?
Truly a no-brainer.

How did you feel the work/life balance was at Princeton? I have a Junior, also interested in studying physics, who has the stats to be considered at Princeton, plus decent legacy status, but decided not to apply there this fall because they are worried it is too much of a grind culture for STEM majors and there wouldn’t be enough time to get involved with other things.

I would love to hear your input and also want to know what ORFE stands for .

However, he was shockingly admitted off the Princeton waitlist and now has no clue where to go. He fell in love with Duke but Princeton feels like too good of an opportunity to pass up.

Princeton would be about $8k/year cheaper for our family. It's not a massive financial difference, but it seems silly to pay more for a less prestigious college. He wants to study either biomedical engineering or physics.

Does anyone here have a recommendation?

How is this a question?

Princeton University is heads and tails better

My kid graduated in 2024 either your kid is ready for college or they are not the whole grind crap is absurd

Mine was President of clubs and held a part time job junior and senior year. They loved it . STEM major made lifelong friendships and was happy .

Duke wouldn’t want to do it, but no one would bat an eye if it ever joined the Ivy League.

It doesn’t have the same history, traditions, or academic weight as Princeton, but it’s still a heavy-hitter, and one could just as easily say Princeton and Yale tried to copy Oxford as Duke tried to copy Princeton and Yale.

A kid, hypothetical or real, would be lucky to have those choices.

Princeton for sure.

Princeton. I would only trade that for Harvard. Duke isn't even in the conversation.
