My sense is that this board really doesn't like the gamesmanship Chicago engages in.

Chicago is a top 10 school that behaves like its Northeastern.

It’s not top 10. No top schools would manipulate the admissions game that much. It screams lack of confidence.

It’s our resident Chicago troll again! I hadn’t seen you in a while so I was worried.

ED rounds don’t signal a lack of confidence. UChicago in 2016 had the same acceptance rate as Northwestern in 2026 with only EA and RD. I don’t mean to tear Northwestern down or anything, but it’s the truth. ED is a strategy, not a sign of “weakness.” But I figure you’re just mad because Emory has never cracked the top 10 or 20.

It is one of 5 other schools that other Ivies refer to as an Ivy+.

That must frost your gills.

Harvard
Ivy Plus and BorrowDirect
Our partnership with BorrowDirect allows physical access to our libraries to affiliates of fellow Ivy Plus institutions: Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Duke University, Johns Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Princeton University, Stanford University, University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University.

Ivy plus is not the same as top 10. Hope you’re smart enough to understand the distinction.

It is better since there is no real or official "Top 10" list. Forbes, WSJ, US News, Times, Niche, WalletHub, etc. all purport for marketing reasons to have a top 10 list. No different than a top 10 list created by some random poster on DCUM.

There is, however, an official Ivy Plus list and that's the list used by the colleges in the Ivy Plus club. That hurts you, eh?

Hurts me how? You sound like an ass. Why did you get so defensive at this? I guess you’re a Chicago mom. Regardless, Chicago is not a top 10. It’s pretty clear in our DC’s high school only tier 4-5 students attend Chicago. It’s just not that deep.

Go get a life. Spawning every time Chicago is mentioned to start and lose your own arguments isn’t a substitute for a personality.

You could Google before posting. Chicago is ranked 6 of best universities by USNWR. USNWR is the gold standard for ranking.

What makes you think I didn’t know that? Isn’t it why I was saying Chicago was manipulating admissions/rankings?
And before you accuse me of being jealous, all my kids attend HYPSM.

The jokes write themselves 🤣

Arguing all day about Chicago isn’t an activity that parents with kids at HYPSM do. Your behavior signals a lack of confidence.

It was actually my first time commenting on Chicago. If that’s makes me a troll so be it.
One ED round probably doesn’t signal lack of confidence, but three rounds certain do. And it’s manipulation for sure. Again, Chicago is for tier 4-5 students. Therefore, it’s not a top 20 school.

All day? Not really. Making too many wrong assumptions is a sign of low iq. That genetic inheritance probably prevented your dc from getting into a real top 10.

Miserable middle class strivers rage at things they can’t afford and can’t access. Your kids never went to private schools and don’t go to top 10 universities, as evidenced by your sour comments.

Emory, on the other hand, needs a satellite campus and need-aware admissions to have an acceptance rate of 12% and to be top 30.

And my kids are too good to be on top 10 school. They’re all in T5 and doing exceptionally well.

You can’t even type grammatically coherent posts. That genetic inheritance likely prevented them from getting into the T20 and forced them to settle for Emory.

Nice try with the obvious sockpuppeting as a “Chicago alum” who can’t get their facts straight. Low IQ move to think anyone is falling for that.

You care way too much about Chicago to be anybody of worth to society. Xoxo 💋

Speaking of Emory, one of my kids actually applied to there as a safety school. They managed to receive a full ride merit scholarship (Woodruff) but chose to attend a HYPSM.

Good typing skill! But still screams low IQ as you exhibit no logical thinking ability. I don’t care about Chicago at all but just found wannabes like you so funny. Maybe look at yourself in a mirror once your anger subsides.
