I have a coworker with this name and nn. It works fine. She is Gen-X. People at my work don't have trouble with it.

Nick names on official documents are a big peeve for me.

Half the names are ethnic nowadays so who cares about a difficult spelling?

As someone with a name that would be considered “ethnic” (Arabic), it’s awful. I’ve given fake common names (Lucy, Abby, Anna, Maddie) and noticed how much better I get treated compared to when I use my real name. (I think it’s because my real name makes people think I’m a foreigner.) I’ve vowed to give my own kids simple names.

I’m not sure I’d want to have a more common name that wasn’t easily spellable either.

Jacqueline Kennedy, dead for over 30; years, is still recognized for her style and grace. Only a moron would confuse the name Jacqueline with a carved pumpkin called a jack-o'-lantern!

Recognized by old people.

People having babies aren't obsessed with the Kennedy lore anymore. Too many details of what they are really like have come to light.

This.

There is no reason to give any kid a nine letter name and who combined Jac+que+line as a name and for what reason?

Maybe she’s a descendant of Jack’s Queen line and that’s how it happened

Anyway my sister Jacqueline goes by Jackie, always has
