Prepping for storm tomorrow…

I'm about to take my dog for a walk in case it gets bad later this afternoon. When I get back, I'll adjust the furniture on my deck so it hopefully doesn't fly around.

The 2 pm closure is kind of ridiculous since looking out my window to the west it is extremely dark and there is a line of storms approaching that is probably about 20 minutes from downtown. It looks like a lull after that so I will get through my workday and leave.

OPM closing at same time the severe t-storm was passing by. Shoulda closed at noon instead so silly now everyone is scrambling on the roads causing more of a headache with traffic and geez so much water on the roads.

DP, but if you have well water, that doesn't work when the power is out so you don't have water. I guess the answer to your question is yes, the faucets run on electricity.

?? do many people in the DMV have well water?

I live in a close in suburb and we lose power any time the wind blows. I don't see the point in any preparation besides making sure we have a few flashlights.

Nothing is going to happen. The widespread tornado watch was cancelled early an hour ago. Once again the news/Capital weather game, etc got everyone into hysterics and were completely wrong (“this forecast was difficult to pin down “).
