There will still be industry. |
Covid lockdowns showed us firsthand. |
| If the economy collapses because of AI we all become surfs or starve to death. There is not safe haven from this. It is possible about 1,000 tech oligarchs will be left competing among each other with their ai robots and even surfs will be unnecessary. AI might not take over, humanity might just slowly make itself obsolete and these oligarchs fight and eventually merge into one small clan. |
| Government hacks will be safe. |
|
This thread isn't about AI nonsense in general.
It about tech CEOs trying to get government protection for their business by promising to use it to hurt women and Democrats. |
So maybe Democrats should switch sides? That part is easy to fix. |
Trump really screwed the pooch on that, like everything else. |
MAGA dont need no schoolin. Literasy is for loosers. |
Owah terrific indusstries, Owah great indusstries. We love owah indusstries. We've got the hottest country in the world. A year ago we didn't have a country, And everbotty knows it. |
If a large segment of society is unemployed it affects everyone. Restaurants, beauty services, and the rest of the hospitality industry are going to be the first to go. We can pick at white collar workers all we want, but in the end the country is going to miss their money. |
F these misogynistic lunatics. I'll take that as a challenge. |
UBI won't be "figured out." Musk loves to wax on about the coming age of technology prosperity and most people won't need to work. But you saw his attitude toward non-billionaires when he was at DOGE. He only had scorn for people on social security and retirement pensions and welfare and--heaven forbid!--a decent-paying government job. If he doesn't think actual workers should make a middle class salary, do you think he envisions UBI as more than subsistence? Musk, of course, is not the decider of the future. But he is representative of billionaires and how the world looks when you think you own it. |
Bottom line is that companies replacing human workers with AI and robotics should be expected to pay more in taxes to make society whole again. |
it's easier to automate blue collar jobs than white collar jobs. |
We let Musk spend hundreds of millions of dollars on campaigns and lobbying so he is indeed deciding a lot of how our future will look. It's only going to get worse unless we get people like Musk under control. |
