This is a good recommendation though my only issue with K-Dramas is that when I'm super stressed/anxious, I sometimes like to double screen (I know it's bad but it's what I do) and I don't like the dubbed versions. If I can find a time where I want to dedicate my full attention to something though, these are great.

True. I hate the dubs too. I mostly watch when I’m on the treadmill at home.

OP here and I want something I’ll set my phone down for an concentrate. I think I’m ruining my brain with reels. I want a show to watch but it also can’t have any stress. Bridgerton is perfect…and of course all of the typical sitcoms I’ve already done.

There was an assassination attempt this season- not sure if she meant no violence at all or light violence.

I just meant no constant violence…or, like, torture, etc.

Is Gilded Age violent or traumatic?

No.

TGA revels in problems. If you're looking for a stress free show, TGA isn't it. The Bridgertons is light and fluffy and fun.

Wut.

Gilded Age is pretty much the exact same stakes as Bridgerton in a slightly different historical setting and a bit more realism (but only a bit) in terms of historical accuracy. It's perfect for OP.

There is literally a plot line about how the new money family's butler needs to get tips from the old money family's butler to avoid making faux pas when the new money family hosts. Yes there are higher stakes storylines, but Bridgerton has those too. Who gets stressed out watching Gilded Age?!

+1 Each season gets better and better IMO.

I've watched Crashing Landing (a comfort watch at this point) and it requires focus, but very much worth it.

I'm the PP and it does stress me out at times. The rich mother determined to control her daughter and son. The son of Christine Baranski scheming to marry money, then turning his mother into a pauper. I could go on.

My point is that if OP wants fluff like the Bridgertons (that is done very much like romance novel tropes--from which it came) that is a different level of issues. Nothing "bad" ends up coming to fruition in a Bridgerton romance or series episode in the way that TGA utilizes. It also shows the difference between someone like Julian Fellows creating and Julia Quinn/Shondra Rhimes creating. JF is much more in line with Sidney Sheldon, back in the day.

It’s not romance but have you watched the new season of King of the Hill? It’s pretty funny and also feel good. I believe it’s on Hulu. I’m a big comedy fan though so I’m biased.

I don’t mind focusing. It’s good for me. Is Crash landing on you sad or traumatic though? The war story scared me away.

Watched in 2020 and perhaps 59572 times since then. Need something a bit heartier and longer…a project show, if you will.

I have the same TV taste as you - trust the Crash Landing rec - you will thank us! There just isn’t enough of this kind of thing - some of the more YA shows work, Gilmore Girls, have you watched Never Have I Ever? The Diplomat is stressful and has violence but it’s so ridiculous that somehow it doesn’t stress me out and is fun.

Have you watched Younger? Different than bridgerton but a lot of fun and an easy watch.

It’s about a wealthy South Korean woman who accidentally paraglides into N Korea to be rescued by a super good looking N Korean soldier. There’s some tension later in the show but the plot is so over the top that it’s not traumatic.
