GDS vs. Potomac for upper school

This sounds more believable than some prior posts…go with whatever school is best fit for your DC and your family. Different kids might have different best fit schools. It all is fine.

By "weekly day off," do you mean Saturday and Sunday, like every school? GDS's hours are the same as every school.

I perennially think being in DC makes a huge difference in terms of what peers you encounter than those in the suburbs. Even Bethesda is more white, less diverse than folks on the other side of Western Ave. Families also self-segregate.
