Not the first time innocent people are killed in combat, won’t be the last.

Kinetic combat is super unfun for those involved or in proximity to it.

This was not off target. This was no rules of engagement.

The sons, and grandsons, of the same men bombed a church in Alabama and killed little girls.why are you surprised?

I guess they see these little girls as less than human. No problem killing them as long as the military industrial complex thrives. Right?

The question is: When the investigation concludes, if the US is found to have been involved, will this administration admit it and apologize? A decent, civilized nation would do so. I'm not holding my breath...

IRGC shot down an incoming missile and it crashed on a school, or c.) they hit an IRGC or Basij base and are falsely claiming it was a school full of children. I'd but 75% odds on it being one of the above.

Of course. These are the obvious answers. The naval base was the target, everything around it was collateral damage. They were going by old maps which didn't show the girls school. But according to this thread, with zero credible sources, the US actually targeted a girls school. Anyone believing Iranian media is a complete fool. No one's even asking: Why did the Iranians have a school full of girls right next to a major target in the first place?

You're an idiot. We put schools on military bases too! And hospitals! Because people live there!

Totally sucks? That's all the empathy you can muster for 170+ dead children? Just the cost of war to you? A war for a purpose our government can't even define?

Exactly. We are infested by losers like the PP who callously shrug off the fate of others but would shriek for the remainder of time if their loved ones were treated in a similar horrific manner.

Same thing that was done in Gaza. Deny at first, then continue the process of bombing more schools and hospitals.

U.S.–Israeli missiles have hit an elementary school in Tehran — the fourth school in 6 days

➤ Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei shared video that shows Shahid Hamedani Elementary School before and after the strike. A casualty toll was not immediately available.

➤ It is the fourth school hit in Iran since the war began:
1. Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ school – Minab (Feb 28 strike). 180 killed.
2. Two schools in Parand, southwest of Tehran, hit by missiles Thursday according to Iranian media. Photos confirm damage.
3. Shahid Hamedani School – Tehran (Niloufar Square), the new strike reported Friday.

This was an initial strike, not a hasty response to an attack, there was time to plan correctly.

Put better than I could:

What might be one of the worst war crimes in US history. I have been worried about this for a while and mentioned it in the substack on March 3 (see the excerpt at the bottom). There was credible evidence from very near the start of the US campaign that a girl's school had been hit in southern Iran and perhaps more than 100 Iranian students were killed. Well more and more it looks like this was the result of a US attack. If true, none of the excuses for this are acceptable. Yes there have been intelligence failures such as the US bombing of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade in 1999. However, that was not an early strike in what should have been a well-prepared campaign, and the US now has even better eyes in the sky. Yes the school was near a naval base, but US munitions are extremely accurate. Telling a school from a military base these days is not hard. I am sorry, this is at best grotesque incompetence and if it was a US strike it is a great crime.

Whose Airstrike Hit a Girls’ School in Iran? The U.S. Says It’s Still Investigating.
The strike was one of the deadliest attacks of the American-Israeli campaign against Iran so far.

Top Trump administration officials said on Wednesday that they were still investigating whether it was a U.S. airstrike that hit a girls elementary school in Iran on the opening day of the war.

The strike was one of the deadliest attacks of the American-Israeli campaign against Iran so far, killing at least 175 people, most of whom were likely children, according to state media and health officials.

It is not clear why the school was hit, or which country’s forces fired at it.

Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, was asked at a briefing Wednesday afternoon if the United States had conducted the airstrike on the school. “Not that we know of,” she responded. “The Department of War is investigating this matter.”

Asked again several minutes later if there was any evidence that it was not a U.S. strike, or, conversely, if there had been any assessment as to whether Israel had played a role in the attack, she said: “Again, the Department of War is currently investigating this matter.”

for all the people making excuses and justifying and pardoning this bombing...WE are the bad guys in this. just come to terms with it, whether intentional or not, it should never have happened.
