For a county that prides itself on being liberal and progressive, there sure is a lot of anti-union and smaller government rhetoric thrown about on this forum. Not surprised that most of the liberals here in the county do it for the identity rather than the policy.

I wonder if anyone has measured how many students graduate from MCPS proficient in both math and ELA. According to the MD school report card MoCo high schools have a 41% proficiency rate in math and a 60% proficiency rate in ELA. How many of these students are proficient in both? My guess is less than half.

Realizing 41% is the max since only 41% graduate proficient in math. So maybe 1 in 3 MCPS graduates are proficient in both math and ELA. But this is parents' fault for asking too much of MCPS? Gmafb

OP. Don't let it get to you. Chin up.

DC is just full of entitled people. It's what you get from the mix of power, money, and politics.

If wanting more than 1 in.3 kids to graduate proficient in both math and ELA makes me "entitled" then I am happy for you to call me entitled.

No, what’s pathetic is the Mad Mommies of MoCo being predictably Big Mad about everything.

Something happens I tell my wife, “uh oh, the Mad Mommies of MoCo are gonna be Big Mad.”

I live in Virginia btw. I think you people are batshit loony.

You’re calling people who complain about MCPS on DCUM loony, but you’re spending your free time attacking people on a forum for a school district you don’t have kids in.

That sounds sane and normal to you?

Girl, bye.

Lol you think you did something there.

Amusing.

+1. More of my time wasted by complaining women

Why are you reading and posting then??

Isn't the sole purpose of this site to just complain and expect everyone to agree with your POV. And if they don't, you just name-call and end the discussion.

The people who are complaining about DCUM discussing and acknowledging MCPS’s failures don’t care that the system is failing children. They just care that we pretend MCPS is a great school district.

I guess I could understand MCPS employees feeling defensive about the reputation of the school system, but I can’t fathom why parents would be on here getting bent out of shape because people are criticizing MCPS. It’s weird.
