You will never, ever, ever get all of the things you want and demand from MCPS, no matter how much you huff and puff and stomp your feet. Public schools are designed to serve the masses and not your individual circumstances. And honestly, many of you have inflated egos which cause you to believe you are entitled to everything you are asking for.

If you want to get whatever you ask for, be heard and have a direct say in your child’s school and policies, go to private school. Yes, it can be expensive but it’s worth it. Also, a lot of your expectations are just delusional. Some of the things you are asking for (and won’t be receiving) are not even available in private schools.

Beer money and champagne taste. No wonder you can’t keep a superintendent!

Brilliant to get parents hating each other when the superintendent is a disaster.

MCPS should work on getting kids proficient in math and literacy before they graduate instead of whining on DCUM about mean mean parents that expect them to give sh$t about education

The reason people complain so much is that you MCPS (Peter, Essie, Sean, Chris and other senior leadership members who actively participate on this forum) operate as a criminal organization. You want less complaining, a start would be to make a singular honest and transparent decision that is grounded on what is best for children.

You guys have severely damaged this school system, and that is absolutely your legacy.

No lies detected, OP. People are exhausting.

You're just seeing a few aggressive, mentally ill, posters obsessing on DCUM, OP. They do not represent the majority of MCPS parents.

I've been very happy with MCPS and I don't mind that it's imperfect. I have supplemented my children's education how I wanted. They're now in college and high school.

It makes you wonder where the money goes.

The so-called parents who are falling all over themselves to do PR and damage control for MCPS on this forum are absolutely pathetic.

The people who complain the loudest are often just advocating for special treatment for their kids, who are usually just average kids. Their parents are convinced they are Very Special Geniuses and the only thing holding them back are public school policies. So we all have to sit around listening to their tantrums.

OP is right. If this is you, go to private. What you actually want is for your kid to be separated from the riff raff. Well then do it. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Yes!! 💯% I see more snobbiness in this forum than even the private school forum, which is crazy. Literally the second MCPS makes an announcement, there is a 10 page thread on here opposing whatever it is.
This forum is not MCPS parents. This forum across the board is a self selected group of people who care alot and like to have their opinions heard. Most people are not like us.

It is good that most people are not like you.

Taylor is good at pitting people against each other. He creates conflict.

Absolutely. Like any good Machiavellian leader.

Beer money in champagne tastes? No way. We pay for champagne and get beer

I do not follow MCPS/BOE ups and downs closely and yes, it all comes off as incredibly whiny and entitled. So for those who think Taylor or the BOE are problematic, please know that you do a horrible job of demonstrating how or why that is and instead just seem to talk about how you want public school personalized to your preferences.

Yeah those families should really leave the peers who have adults/parents like you in their lives. Pity your kids.
