Didn't Calleva have to move due to Trumps golfing security? |
I have been told by posters on this forum we can easily double our population density without having an impact on the sewer system. In fact, it's childish to even mention it. |
Here is the whole quote, and I hate to say it but Trump is right. “There is a massive Ecological Disaster unfolding in the Potomac River as a result of the Gross Mismanagement of Local Democrat Leaders, particularly, Governor Wes Moore, of Maryland. A sewer line breach in Maryland has caused millions of gallons of raw sewage to be dumped directly into the Potomac River, a result of incompetent Local and State Management of Essential Waste Management Systems. This is the same Governor who cannot rebuild a Bridge. It is clear Local Authorities cannot adequately handle this calamity. Therefore, I am directing Federal Authorities to immediately provide all necessary Management, Direction, and Coordination to protect the Potomac, the Water Supply in the Capital Region, and our treasured National Resources in our Nation's Capital City. While State and Local Authorities have failed to request needed Emergency Help, I cannot allow incompetent Local "Leadership" to turn the River in the Heart of Washington into a Disaster Zone. As we saw in the Palisades, the Democrat War on Merit has real consequences. The Federal Government has no choice, but to step in. FEMA, which is currently being defunded by the Democrats, will play a key role in coordinating the response. Thank you for your attention to this matter! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP” |
I thought the sewage pipe is owned and operated by DC Water. Why is Wes Moore getting blamed? |
I don't know if FEMA applies here. It is across state boundaries though. |

Agreed. And water season is just around the corner. |

Maybe take this as a Learing issue. The pendulum is clearly swinging from one extreme to the other. When regulators overreach instead of setting reasonable, achievable standards, a backlash is predictable. Emissions rules went too far and added thousands of dollars to the cost of new U.S. vehicles, with limited real-world benefit. The EPA took a thin statutory justification and expanded it aggressively to pursue broader policy goals. Trump’s rollback of those standards is less a surprise than a foreseeable reaction to overregulation. |
Nope. The Potomac Interceptor, which is what failed, is part of DC Water, which is federally regulated and under the oversight of the EPA. But of course admitting that this is the fault of EPA--which is probably not doing much these days--will never happen. Not surprising that Trump would just choose to randomly blame one of his enemies. |
| They are finding those flushable wet wipes as the culprit for clogging up the system and causing the rupture. Those products should be taken off the market. |

Obviously it's under Wes Moore control. That's why they haven't asked for federal help and have their DEI patrol taking months.
Where are the eco justice warriors ? They don't care about 1000 times the toxic water volume of the Exxon Valdez since they can't waste time on a economic disaster that doesn't help them hurt capitalism. They are Marxists in ecologist clothing |

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5741034-trump-moore-potomac-waste-spill/ "Since the last century, the federal government has been responsible for the Potomac Interceptor, which is the origin of the sewage leak. For the last four weeks, the Trump Administration has failed to act, shirking its responsibility and putting people’s health at risk,” Ammar Moussa, a spokesperson for Moore, told The Hill."
Apparently the leaking area was the responsibility of the federal government, not DC or MD |
