Damage control. Optics. The largest school district in MD which is like an urban school district. |
Yikes. This usually is a sign they've lost confidence in the principal. I imagine they might make him take the fall for this incident. Cause Taylor certainly won't. |
Hmmm...someone eyeing Dr B's job or something? An AP? |
I've heard it both ways about bullying. Some say the shooter was a bully. Others say the victim was a bully. Has either been confirmed by anyone that knows these kids? If not, the logic of "probably is a big factor why only the shooter shot this victim only." doesn't actually support one side over the other. In most shooting cases, there is a specific intended target, just as there was here. But the motive is unknown at this time. We can speculate all day about why he did what he did, but lets be clear that that is all it is, speculation. |
Many left Wootton last year, remember? It just didn't make national news: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1276267.page |
| How in G 's world do they expect growing minds and bodies to go to school and LEARN in these environments? |
Whoever started that thread definitely wanted to cast doubt on Dr. Bostic's leadership. So I don't know if this will be the nail in the coffin for him. |
I don’t think this is correct. Central office big wigs always take over in these kinds of ultra serious situations - for better or worse. |
This. The shooter recently transferred into Wootton from Blake HS in Silver Spring. The kid shot is the same kid who told his "mental health professional" he was bullied at Wootton last year, making all the fuss that got the Principal replaced. His mom wanted to transfer him out but was blocked. So neither kid should have been at Wootton this year. Both kids should have been in MCPS special facilities. |
Its that same poster. Go away. |
This is what is strange as the shooter was not at Wootton so did they know each other prior or what really happened between them. In no way should he have brought a gun or did what they did but there is clearly more. The bullied kid should have been transferred to another school but not necessarily a specialized school. MCPS is not open to COSA transfers without a fight. |

For all off you saying MCPS wootton doesn’t do transfers they used to
It is very principle dependent One kid started fires he was moved to QO another threw chairs around he was moved to North West You know who they never removed athletes and crappy coaches who kept these degenerates at Wootton to win football and baseball |
So they just dump these troubled kids on unsuspecting students? |
| What's next? Who is holding mcps accountable? |

Read the thread posted about ES party and troubling class.
There is a crisis in our society. Why are kids acting up more or is it acting up in a different way than kids in the 20th century? Teachers know what they see in their classrooms. Is it access to screens? "Less" parenting? |
