Was this inappropriate?

Op again.
Yes anatomically it's the same as DD seeing her brother naked. But that is DD's brother, and the boy is not. So it's not exactly the "same".

why is "same" in quotation marks

Op here.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. DD has recently asked for full privacy even from me now. It reminded me of this incident at my friend's house and I started wondering whether the situation was actually appropriate or not. That's why I made this post.
I hope this is able to make myself clear to you.

Well it makes sense. You exposed her to naked non-family members and lost her trust. How sad that a 7 year old can't even trust her parent to keep her safe.

- this only occurs to hyper-prudish and puritanical Americans.

Yeah, america, where child sex abuse is incredibly common and pervasive. How you consider protecting your child "hyper-prudish and puritanical" is beyond me, but I'm glad some people care about their childs safety.

So you think it would be wrong for her to see any other child being changed who is not her brother? You would be worried if she was in a restroom and she saw someone changing a diaper?

Yeah you do have a point. But there's also the fact that it wasn't a baby, but a boy who's the same age as DD. But maybe I'm just overthinking it and that's all.

This thread once again is a reminder that the vast majority of Americans have little to no experience traveling abroad.

Oy vey.
