Not you again. Do you have a Google alert for Carolina threads so you can post your rude and bigoted views on NC kids? You’re awful. |

| Accepted. 3.9/1530. No hooks. |
| Waitlisted. 4.75/1550 |
Wow

OOS legacy (and donors for over a decade). Denied with a 4.0 UW. |
| UNC is about 150K cheaper than 4 years of Michigan or UVA OOS. |
| What are the chances of getting in off the waitlist? |
Same here. I know very little about the program and whether it's worth it. Also not sure why they admit kids for this program instead of either admitting them for the fall or rejecting them. I get it for a year where they are off and get too many acceptances (I think that happened at Northeastern one year), but accepting them for the spring off the bat? And I know someone on another thread postulated that it was a school not wanting these kids' stats included, but that makes no sense in our case as our DC had a 1580 SAT and a 3.95 UW GPA. Now trying to figure out if it's worth it. |
| Legacy is no longer a hook. UNC stated this a few years ago. |
| 1580/4.9 weighted GPA, good ECs, OOS, waitlisted |
It is still a hook for OOS. THe school may “tar it into consideration”. It is not one for in state. |
Weird autocorrect. Should say. The school may take it into consideration for OOS applicants (their words). It has not been a hook for instate for a long time. |
| Do some real research, UNC released public statement that oos legacies no longer preferred. |
| It’s laughable a public college considers legacy! |
