Mobile. Additionally, there were also plain DQs

DFS is declared false start. Swimmer went up to an official and said they weren't swimming, and since they had the conversation they aren't penalized for their next event. Different than a DQ for an actual false start (both happened).

I agree. I don’t think elite swimming has faded, I think we’re now seeing the residual impact of Covid. The current seniors were in 6th grade during the shut downs. My guess is many that weren’t as serious dropped swimming, and some enjoyed their break from the pool a bit too much. But it’ll bounce back. There are some really strong middle schoolers in our area right now. Some of the fastest in the nation!

In a championship-style meet, they are scratched from any additional events, including relays.
