How can you tell? |
Their early exmissions this year on Instagram are awful and they're the only TT that doesn't post detailed college matriculation numbers on their website - if you want to know exactly how many graduates in the last 5 years attended Harvard, Brearley and Horace Mann and Dalton and Collegiate surface those numbers right on their college guidance pages, Trinity does not. |
NP - Brearley does a good job at presenting a global vision and gives the feeling of attending an international private school that helps children become global citizens. They seem to make an effort to best position themselves to attract international money. The schools are a business and as tuition continues to increase they will need to find a bigger pool of families that can afford it. |
I think they are pretty good! It’s early, it’s self reported only… the era of feeding all to all ivies is done |
If 5 early to Princeton is a rapidly declining academic institution… I’ll take the risk. |
Self-reporting makes admissions look better since students admitted to top schools are more likely to publicize their achievements. Having said that, I agree that Trinity's admissions look really good (for EA). Trinity's college admission page has always been vague. I agree it is annoying but it does not mean matriculations are deteriorating. What it might mean is that the school administration is over-confident and does not feel the need to bother and disclose full information. It is still a warning flag but it highlights a different issue (complacency, not falling quality of education). |
We got the new info from our Preschool director who talks directly to the head of admissions there. It’s definitely a brand new thing for this year. My guess is they just won’t weigh the FCL in to the application at all. I don’t think it takes away from “points” but also it’s not adding points. If that makes sense. But honestly I do not know what they will do with prop who have already submitted FCL. |
I bet it could add points! Everyone wants to feel loved. |
Agree. I see no scenario where telling a school you would accept if offered admission could be considered a negative. |

Anyone get more updated info from Chapin?
Our PSD said they are still in committees and haven’t made any decisions. Our PSD will check in this Thursday/ Friday hoping for more info. We did get a second round of very strong feedback from Brearley, which was good news. |
Totally agree with this. |
Well, they could have gotten into Princeton without Trinity. One has a professor parent there, another's parent is on the board... etc. |
Not sure you can tell much about academic success from a 5 year old's school report and 1 hour playdate. Which is why the schoo's are known to counsel out and make room for others who test well later on |

Waiting on this, too. We thought we'd know more definitively by now! |
