Yup. |
Not being snarky, rather earnest in asking: Do most of your alumni friends have similar political leanings as you, and that’s why they are also outraged? Or do your alumni friends with more conservative leanings (not MAGA) have similar outrage levels? Sincerely curious and trying to understand the climate, as have a first year there and new to the UVA community. |
Spanberger is about to ruin UVA. |
DP. How, specifically? She’s an alum, as is her husband. She loves dear old UVA. |
No they don't all have similar political leanings and this is not why. We have different political views. And we are all - of both parties - appalled at the undemocratic (small d) abuses of power taking place in our country right now. And yes, to be explicit, this includes Republicans speaking out vocally against it. The fed govt should not be using threats against a college's funding to influence its choice of president. No one I know including those with traditional conservative views is on board with what Maga is doing. Because what they are doing is not in line with traditional conservative small govt values. |
Give it a rest already. |
It is in fact the point of the thread. Are we just lurching back and forth between woke agendas and MAGA agendas? |

Left of MAGA is not woke. It is living in reality world. Please stop grouping us all together. There are many of us who despise MAGA but are also not particularly thrilled with the far left. But unlike MAGA, at least the far left hasn't thrown itself behind a sociopathic criminal - I have zero respect for anyone who is constantly creating excuses for the behavior of this madman. There are no policy goals that justify this. Impeach the loser. You will still have a Republican president. But not one who is profiteering off the office and settling old scores and feeding their childish mafia boss complex. But you are afraid of him. So sad. |
