Tell me any small colleges where a student on the spectrum can thrive

My DD who has never willingly socialized in her life is out at club meetings 4 or 5 times a week. We are shocked. It has been a perfect for her. Good luck OP. Sounds like several good options to consider.

Mary Washington?

Yes. I can't recommend this school enough. DH and I are both grads of top 10 schools for undergrad and grad school, so we have high expectations. We have been highly impressed with the school, admin and professors. Best choice she could have made for herself.

Thanks! Will check them out with her.

I agree that UMW seems like a really good option to consider. My friends with students there have all been really pleased. One in particular is very involved in theater on campus.

Scranton is a terrible fit other than maybe offering a Japanese minor.

They also have cross over with students participating in digital art and technology and students participating in performing arts. There are small music/performing arts scholarships.

RIT has a Japanese minor too.

Ursinus seems to have nearly all of what's on her list. We are going to check it out.

Radford (but has 6,000 students)

I did say I was only looking for Japanese and not too far.

It’s fine if it isn’t actually a fit.

This page for foreign languages does not include Japanese

A shame, because Radford is a lovely little school. It was my daughter’s second choice.

Hooray! I have a friend who is a professor nearby and has guest taught there. She really likes the school.

Earlham is further but could be a fit. Or Guilford?

Why would you want a suggestion that doesn't seem like a fit?

This is OP. I didn’t write the above quote. We are looking for a hard combination of smaller school, Japanese as a major or minor, music or musical theatre and graphic arts.

She’s heavily leaning towards Japanese as a major with Graphic arts as a minor at E-town and continuing music in clubs and choirs.

E-town doesn’t have theatre anymore and it makes me sad to see her stop performing. She’s really happy on stage.

Ursinus and UMary Washington may be good fit.

Sorry, that made more sense in my head ;p I was the poster who said this is likely a unicorn ask, but I did type Japanese minor into google and tried to find the schools that were a reasonable distance from dc area. I didn’t have time to check the other two options, but I did try to note if I knew they had a decent mt program or supports for kids with ld’s based on my own search with my older daughter.

Randolph Macon had already been mentioned, so I hope OP checked to see if it had all the requirements.
