Liar!!! That's not true. Not even close.

You’re just like the person who can’t follow the plot!

If somebody dies, and nobody knows why or there isn’t a Doctor Who can say oh yeah, they have congestive heart failure, or there isn’t a hospice nurse that’s like yeah they’re on hospice… they go to Baltimore for an autopsy

Absolute bs.

Call the medical examiners office and ask if they can run blood work. But you don't have much time.

She’s hoping to implicate BIL in murder so her DH can inherit everything.

Frankly, your post reads to me like you might have mental health challenges that need to be addressed.

+1

Why are you obsessing over this, Miss Marple?

Drop it OP. Doesn't help anyone to speculate or try to make sure everyone knows that FIL might have killed himself.

If he did, he probably wanted money left to go to his kids or wife instead of paying medical bills and insurance. Think of it that way.

Unfortunately, you will never know the answer. Making a fuss will go nowhere and you will only upset the bereaved. So what if he overdosed? It just means that nobody has to sit around for the next year watching him suffer. Let it go forever.

DH told me his father had repeatedly expressed his desired to die while sleeping.

This is a common thought for cancer patients. My mom had a rare metastatic cancer and treated for four years. About a year before she died she said she would not mind if she went to sleep and did not wake up. She had accepted her prognosis and was hoping for the most painless death.

DH insisted and paid for an autopsy when my FIL died suddenly--I don't know what he thought they would find or what he would do the information but it basically showed that he died from being old and unhealthy (history of cardiac issues and obese) and was a total waste of money. It was a bad emotional decision.

I had a relative from Massachusetts die while under hospice care. She had a long battle with cancer so not a surprise. Before she could be cremated, an autopsy had to be completed. Apparently, this is a state law in MA.
