The problem with this one is that ML had control of GFR for a couple weeks and completely screwed up everything he and his crew touched and hurt GFR for probably a couple season cycles. This isn't a fresh start with something new, it is a rehash of failure due to a bruised ego.

If this is the case than it's a waste of time. Is this person smart enough to hire the right people to run it?

If not, people will leave, see the mess and then be back

And if their kids are good soccer players that's fine and I am sure GFR will have spots for them still but at the risk of spending a year in a TBD club, I wouldn't take my chances personally. Seems like GFR is making a lot of smart moves right now and will just get better now that the worst of the worst are gone.

will be in direct competition w loudoun east.

All the loudoun east guys follow the RBFC page on instagram and are buddies with ML so wouldn't be suprised if there's something in the works for LE to merge with them or something.

Yes there is some sort of connection between at least some Loudoun East coaches and the Phoenix futsal thing and by extension RBFC. I don’t understand Loudoun East. The teams are low level NCSL and don’t seem connected to actual Loudoun Soccer. Why not just go play for Loudoun if good enough? Is Loudoun East just trying to grab the kids who want to play travel but can’t make a good team?

Loudoun East is for U-littles. they all feed into Loudoun after they go to U-13. Not everyone is chasing a top team at ages 9, 10. Some kids/parents want to play for a team that's close to home and watch their kids enjoy playing rather than chasing top teams.

Hi Rado!

There's at least one Herndon coach following too. Herndon has lost a lot of coaches this fall on the boys' side. I have a girl so don't know the details.

Following on instagram? Yeah, the list of coaches following this new club on instagram is quite a circus of coaches - FA, HM, GD lol

Following on instagram could just mean you are nosy and interested to see what's going on. I wouldn't jump to conclusions on that.

For RBFC's sake, I hope you're right - otherwise this club is shaping up to be the Island of Misfit Toys
