Montgomery Mall.
Or, a time machine and White Flint at the holidays with its little train. |
| My sister saw a stabbing at that Target. |
Wasn't that 9 years ago? There was a shooting at Montgomery Mall around that time too. |

I live in between Wheaton and Montgomery Mall. Here is my hot take. Wheaton is great for staples/essentials (Target, Costco, Five Below, Macys) and they have a lot of options for kids' clothing but not very much for adult clothing. Montgomery is better for clothing, gifts and my teens like walking around there.
But if I want clothes for myself, I would rather go to Columbia, Tysons or, if you like outlet shopping, Clarksburg. |
The owner of Stride Rite retired. I talked to him a bunch because we had been interested in buying his parents' house (in our neighborhood). One of his employees took over, but I guess decided to go in a different direction. The shoe store seems to sell adult shoes and higher priced ones (I'm guessing they're "in" but I don't follow trends and have no clue). I like the Shoe Dept store at Wheaton. They expanded and now have a lot of styles, etc. They often sell high priced brands (Gucci, etc.). You just have to look through all of the shoes, but since everything is out, it's quick. |
| Lots of crime in the area. I would like to go to the Costco, but being it being part of that mall is a deal breaker. Lots of human trafficking going on, and lots of sketch looking people. Ironically, the only woman I ever knew who’d set foot in there was a sorta trashy and maga, and she raved about what a nice mall it was, until some kids robbed her for her phone as she was loading groceries from Costco into her car. So I thought it was amusing that she got robbed. She is a low-key racist maga, so I thought it was poetic justice she got mugged by the people she wants deported. I laughed when I heard what happened. Serves her right. |
Huh. We go too this mall all the time for Costco, DSG, etc and it feels like a normal MC/UMC mall in all respects. Have not felt unsafe so far in 20+ trips. |
I've been going there for 15 years, and the only time I felt unsafe was the first couple of times, because the mall was too deserted back then. In the past ten+ years it been fine, because there are usually a lot of people shopping. Now there are only two malls in Montgomery county and not much retail on the east side of the county, so this mall is pretty popular. |
Pretty sure that PP who laughed at the maga lady for getting mugged is workshopping a fiction piece. |
Something happened in 2018 at Montgomery mall |
Google Montgomery Mall. Not safe either. I go regularly. |
