Right. We’re lucky to have so many great schools to choose from for kids of all types. So weird to tear down other schools with such vitriol. |
+1 I agree and wonder about the anxiety producing pressure their kids are experiencing at home. |

I get why people talk up schools. This means they had a good experience and are loyal to the school. Makes sense.
Much weirder are the people who seem to have vendettas against schools they never attended, and never had a child attend. This is just freaking bizarre and I wonder about the mental health of these people. |
Sadly, gatekeeping “elite”’status is one of if not the primary pastime on this board. God forbid someone have something nice to say about a school that is not one of the undisputed heavyweights. Haters swarm in to put that school in its place. |
The PP didn't go to Harvard. |
For kids that age, it is actually pretty good… |
In what way? |
Goldilocks Schools are those that offer Top 25 academics and Top 25 quality of life, that offer great graduation outcomes, that are located close to loved ones (but not too close), that have a reputation that will impress others (but not tag the student as a one-dimensional drone), and that are affordable. Basically, the aspirational ones … NONE of those schools mentioned by the OP fit the bill. What’s worse, the OP’s description suggests school’s that cannot be criticized without others emotionally lashing out at the criticism. That sounds like a Sacred Cow situation to me. |
This doesn't sound like any school, because that criteria is entirely subjective. |

Troll? You wish! |
Ok. So it's just another arrogant snob. |
| Did you mean to say "golden child" schools? |
Right. And we can start by ignoring your advice. |
