+1 It's a much better academic environment than Harvard, which courts wealthy legacies, snobs, and students who'd rather protest than study.

William and Mary doesn’t have the academic powerhouses Harvard has, nor the research institution, nor the influence, nor the money, nor the top students…if W&M were to disappear tomorrow, no one would notice but the mediocre Virginia families who can’t get over the fact that their kid wasn’t good enough to get into a top school.

You sound like a typical, obnoxious "Haaarvaard" grad. Get over yourself.

OP, I have been on this forum for years and you have completely made this up. These schools all receive negative feedback and don't stand out at all. DCUM is harsh: if the school is widely respected, people are desperate bring it down a notch. If a school is less competitive and some gives the impression of over-praising it, posters tear it to the ground. State flagships are trashed for being less competitive than Ivies. Ivies are trashed for being too easy, grade inflation, for the students not being as smart as they are supposed to be, etc etc. SEC schools are trashed for being full of dummies. If a school isn't harshly attacked, it's because it hasn't been brought up yet. As soon as it receives praise, it will be attacked.

It's literally stuck on the side of a highway and surrounded by the industrial side of Worcester, and is litteraly an uphill climb everywhere. It was awful aside from 2 buildings. It's whole upper campus is a parking lot on a hill. Just being honest. I was shocked.

Wow. If you were to disappear, the world may actually be a better place.

People here talk about New Haven like it’s Tokyo cause of a few good pizza joints. It’s bizarre.
I laughed out loud at this comment. Though I must also defend NHV and say that there are a ton of really good restaurants outside of pizza joints! (Far more than the dearth in Bethesda at least…)

Last time this discussion came up, people were saying New Haven was better than New York and Los Angeles for food! It happens to be that many people…need to experience the world

that was a joke (I made it) that people took seriously
