As scenes are not mandatory. Sounds like something male directors do to get their jollies.

One actress (not famous) was told she would need to do a kissing scene with the director! He had a thing for her.

On a related note, a woman costume designer selected unmatching bras and underwear for actresses in a scene where the women cavort in the ocean. The male director said the bras and underwear needed to match, which is not realistic. He just wanted his fantasy.

After Harvey Weinstein, just no.
