Trump rarely, if ever, apologizes for his frequent obnoxiousness. Mamdani apologized and pledged to be a supportive mayor. I'll give him a pass on what he said two years while hoping for the best for him and NYC.

If a Mamdani Administration accelerates retirements and resignations, while depressing the recruiting rate, public safety will suffer and crime in NYC will rise rapidly.

My understanding of the clip is that he is saying IDF trains with the NYPD and vice versa. If you train with someone, you tend to absorb their techniques and methods.
I have little qualms of training with Israeli police force, which differs from IDF. If the NYPD need militarized training, they can get it from our military.
