Then move to S. Korea?

That was unnecessarily nasty comment.

Np

No, +1. I was so confused by it. So stupid.

Which region?

Oh idk the one I hear on BBC

It's difficult to say "British". King Charles, Timothy Spall, Paul McCartney, the characters Inspector Lewis & Vera, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, David Tennant, Michael Caine etc etc all speak very differently, but they are all British. The accent changes every few miles or with class. There's Northern Irish, Scottish, Welsh and English accents, and many subsets within those. These days, BBC presenters have diverse accents.

I wish! But I have a family. Luckily my kids have a K-pop and K Pop Demon Hunters Obsession, which I have not minded one little bit, ha.

I hate British accents. Some of them even sound like speech impediments - like replacing ‘th’ with ‘f’. I can tolerate the RP to a point, but not most British accents. I used to live there, so maybe that’s why - so many chavs everywhere - like literally everywhere.

Which? My south Dublin husband sounds nothing like someone from Cork or Belfast!

I grew up in Bethesda and enjoy hearing the Maryland accent. I haven't been back there in 40 years. Love this video!

Trump does.

English. That's why I married DH. His accent is "neutral", and quite soft. I cannot understand the northern British accents, or strong Welsh accents.

-The old softer Southern accent, a la Shelby Foote (he’s from Tennessee/Mississippi apparently but it’s what I think of when someone says the Tidewater accent)

-coastal Maine

-Scottish, any of them

For a British accent primer, the Anglophenia channel on YouTube is hilarious if you haven’t seen it:

I'd be happy to help with that, but I'm a woman and I suspect you are too.

Fun fact: I can't speak (and barely understand) the regional dialect of German in my area as my very proper grandparents and parents would have had a heart attack.
