Fairfax High School Football cheating/recruiting scandal?

Honestly, if you know anything about HS football, a 10th grader who isn't getting in the varsity games at all is....not the kind of kid who should be giving up his education for football at TSJ.

Not necessarily true. Depends on the politics. Many coaches will play a senior over a junior, even if the junior is a game changing player.

A sophomore, who plays for a coach that has a high value for seniority, will definitely have trouble getting time over upper class man in that situation.

Herndon lost a kid who was a freshman last year because of this. Kid is the most dominant defensive lineman to ever walk the halls of Herndon High School. Every WCAC powerhouse has been recruiting the kid since elementary school. He wanted to stay closer to home and to travel to private school, but the coach didn’t wanna play him last year. He got some exposure at camps this past summer and has multiple D1 schools(and top programs).

He didn’t want to waste another season sitting on the bench behind upperclassmen so guess who was there to scoop him up? That’s right. The Saint James Performance Academy.

There aren't substantiated allegations of cheating. A friend lent money to another friend for an apartment LAST football season. NO ONE CHEATS TO GET A JV FOOTBALL PLAYER. This is Reid getting revenge on a coach who stood up to her when she defended Hayfield's disgusting behavior.

Reid didn’t bar Fairfax from the playoffs. The Virginia High School League did. She pulled Hayfield after a Judge ordered that they be allowed to play, but she didn’t yank Fairfax.

Maybe Fairfax should get an attorney to prove the allegations are false the same way Hayfield did. I will bet Reid won’t pull them out of the playoffs like she did Hayfield if that happens.

Both are guilty and Hayfield was 10x worse. A law firm has been interviewing 100s of people since last April. When their report finally comes out on Hayfield both Thompson and Overton will be shown to have knowingly broke VHSL rules. It will also show that FCPS leadership knew what was going on but didn’t care because they had bigger problems than football. Once it got to “loud” in August they did a bullshit investigation and announced Hayfield was cleared hoping that would quiet it all down, which worked for a while. The VHSL got pissed at FCPS and decided to take action themselves which put FCPS leadership in a position to actively/publicly defend Hayfield. Once FCPS did that that several FCPS coaches decided they had seen enough and went public with the information they had since Overton was interviewed. Then FCPS was forced by public pressure to remove Hayfield.
At some point it will all be available for public knowledge. Probably after this football season.

That BS “self investigation” should absolutely be grounds for firing Reid. “I have investigated myself and found I am innocent. To prove how innocent I am I have the selected things that show I’m innocent to another person so they too can say I’m innocent” absolutely bonkers

Fairfax county court said you can’t ban them from the playoffs until we look into this further. That’s it. The next week FCPS barred them from the playoffs after more details came out. It was telling Hayfield did not continue on with their court case. They knew they were guilty and all their dirty laundry would have become public during the hearing. Hayfield was never found guilty to be innocent.

If they were reinstated, by the court there should have been no need to continue making motions and requests to the court. Then when Ried started pandering to the haters and sold Hayfield out, it just became too a chaotic and they left it alone. They got some kids into college, the coaches took other jobs, and they put FCPS football in their rear view mirrors.

the coaches at fairfax got caught doing the same shady crap Overton did. But due to Overton, everyone (FCPS and vhsl) is now over correcting and cracking down.

Doubt it was Overton. Overton is busy building a high powered and nationally recognized program at St James. He doesn’t have time to be snitching. My guess is one of the coaches who he teamed up with to snitch on Overton flipped on the Fairfax coach.

No need to guess. They have the email, it was Overtons brother. The one who he was and is coaching with.

The Fairfax Times has been anti-Overton from the beginning. Not sure what’s happening with them, but they’ve done several hit pieces on the man.

There wasn’t any proof of the Overton allegations and they were dismissed in a court of law.

By this season scores, looks like everyone left as Hayfield only has 1 win this year and didn’t break 15 points in that game against Edison. Did any Freedom players stay at Hayfield? Or all moved to St James?
