What did they do? Same as Hayfield?

Nothing remotely on the same scale as Hayfield but a similar result. Reid threw them under a bus because the Fairfax coach and the Fairfax City school board had complained about her mishandling of the Hayfield situation.

Actually FCPS 100% backed Hayfield so this is much worse.

No idea why when the Hayfield situation was way more egregius.

Ridiculous.

Fairfax should get the same public support from the school board and superintendent as Hayfield received.

Not one coach should be punished for this, and the Fairfax principal should get promoted, just like the Hayfield principal

No one should get a pass for deliberately breaking the rules. That Hayfield’s principal got rewarded for this doesn’t mean the should turn blind eye to another school doing the same thing.

The post was just being facetious and pointing out the blatant hypocrisy of fcps

Did you read the Times article? The situations are not even remotely equivalent and the punishment against the Fairfax team is absurd this year for something petty that happened last year does not follow the rules.

So last year, an asisstant coach at FHS lent rent money to a friend who happened to have a kid who played *JV* football.

The kid's family was unhappy with his playtime and so they took him to the st james where somehow Overton heard that this so-called friend had been lent money by a Fairfax staffer. He started a huge drama revenge campaign against Fairfax and FCPS admin were eager to jump on board bc they were salty that the coaches complained about Hayfield's gross cheating last year.

Wow.

No one recruits for JV level players. The whole thing smacks of petty revenge by Reid.

You have to remember that Michelle Reid has created a culture where retaliation against those that disagree with her or her policies appears to be encouraged, while those who do the retaliation have no accountability or consequences. This is the most disturbing aspect of the Hayfield scandal that hasn't gotten much focus. Look at who has been transferred, fired or suspended for speaking out - it is quite alarming.

Michelle Reid has been a terrible choice for FCPS.

Where’s the Hayfield report? Honestly I wouldn’t have been surprised if Hayfield principal had been promoted to Gatehouse to oversee the roll out of report. It’s never being released and FCpS will continue to focus on retaliation against the coaches that didn’t support Hayfield

Its absolutely disgusting that FCPS paid their private lawyer to go to court for Hayfield Scumbags and are throwing the book at Fairfax HS in *retaliation*. There is no other logical explanation for this punishment.

Are the FHS parents pursuing this legally? The infraction didn't even happen this year, the rules don't allow punishment this year for things that happened totally last year.

Lawyer said he did pro bono but what is without doubt is FCPS had to clear the conflict so 100% accurate FCPS knew and approved it. Where are the 4 million emails to every family in FCPS saying how stand behind everyone even AFTER the damning texts. The 1 junior employee quit to take the hit for all of Hayfield and everyone else was rewarded and moved on. The kids remain the ones hurt.

Clearly the JV player's family were disgruntled he was put on JV, or they didn't like his position, or thought he would play Varsity, or the "friendship" was actually a romantic relationship that ran its course.
