Your kid can still have access to AAP if they offer it at every middle school. You aren’t owed a massive AAP center that is fed by three or four middle schools. |
Why does it matter to you? Why so bothered? |
DP. This could reduce funds for buses, for one thing. Could result in fewer pupil placements for another. |
Is your child unable to receive transportation to his MS? |
Boundary adjustments and transportation would be much more straightforward if all middle schools had AAP. I will give you an example of how having a center affects kids who are not in AAP: we live in an ES attendance island that FCPS now wants to get rid of. They won't move our kids to the elementary school that the rest of our neighborhood goes to because then it would make the middle school overcrowded. Why is that middle school overcrowded? Because it's an AAP center. So they want to move our kids to a different ES that makes no sense. |
I am going to guess you're a parent whose kid will go to Franklin instead of Carson if they put AAP at all middle schools. Why so worried? If there is an AAP program at Franklin your kid will be with many of their peers from Navy. Why should you get a choice to optimize your kid's education without having to move to a new home, that others do not get? |
You are attributing an FCPS failure to properly address your boundary issue to the existence of an AAP center. It’s a stretch babe. |
Oh it's very clear this poster sees their kid as better than those non-AAP kids. And only non-AAP kids should have to compromise. They think AAP is their ticket to having a private school type of environment in a public district. |
I’m gonna guess you’re a Franklin parent affected by restricting so looking to place blame on AAP because you’re mad jealous. So predictable! |
Just because things have been a certain way doesn't mean they won't change. Buckle up babe! |
Typical to assume it's jealousy rather than annoyance at the entitlement on display. |
You're the one that clearly thinks she is entitled -- babe! Why don't YOU move? |
Gee. I cannot imagine anyone being upset to have a center at Franklin. There are way more than enough kids to justify it. |
You conflated me with other posters and now multiple other posters have responded to your response to me. Welcome to DCUM. In any event I think having AAP at every middle school would reduce costs and simplify future decisions relating to facilities and boundaries. It also means kids are more likely to stay in their pyramids through HS, and reduce the number of families who don’t feel invested in a pyramid when their kids are only at a school because of AAP. |
PP thinks her kids are too good and smart for Franklin. How will they ever get to TJ from there? The horror! |
