How often do you change your kid's sheets?

Wow some of you must be pretty nasty. I can't imagine needing to change sheets every week. How dirty and sweaty are you people?!

Every other week.

We have pets so we do all bedding weekly. Only the cat is allowed on the beds (and he only sleeps on our bed) but when you have pets everyone is tracking pet hair around on their feet all the time, it's just the reality.

If we ever get pets in the future, I will be prioritizing breeds that don't shed or shed much less. I invest a lot of time and energy in pet hair management -- vacuum daily, air purifiers for pet dander, laundry, steam cleaning furniture and rugs regularly. I know this makes me sound really fastidious but it's honestly necessary to not have a house just full of pet hair at all times. I love the pets but if I'd known it would be like this I would have stuck with just one cat and gotten a breed that sheds less.

I'm in perimenopause so I sweat a lot at night, thank you for your concern.

You’re supposed to change them??

Twice weekly. Fresh sheets are one of lifes great pleasures.

Kids take them off their beds and bring to laundry room. Adults launder and remake the beds.

Cleaners come 2x monthly and do it then, but the other 6 times it's us.

Some of you are really gross even if you shower before bed you should change your sheets once a week because of skin cells, sweat...kids more often 2x a week.

Yes once a week, and make sure you clean your asses

My answer is to OP's question, i.e., for kids specifically.

Every 3-4 weeks-ish. They are prepubescent. They don't have body odor. They don't have night sweats. Also, in our house, kids shower at night, every night. They wear clean PJ's, and we keep the house cool at night.

Any more often is not necessary.

I hate when people are OTT about laundry -- like folks who never re-use a towel or wash something like jeans after every use.

Why would kids' sheets need to be washed more often than adults???

Anonymous wrote:My 8-year-old boy takes a bath or shower every evening, so he's always clean when he gets into bed. But my husband is insisting that we change his sheets every week, which I think is a lot. He's a little boy – he doesn't get sweaty at night, he's not a hairy or smelly teen yet. So now I'm wondering what everyone else does.

Or do what Oprah said she did: every few days. But then again it's Oprah who is not a 8 year old boy.

Accidents are totally different. Those get washed promptly. You don’t just let it sit there for a night or two if the accident happened off the washing schedule.
