Just for the record, the BCC student who smashed the chair onto the head of a younger student graduated on time with his BCC classmates, who gave a massive cheer when his name was called at the graduation ceremony. And to be clear, this wasn't the first incident by the chair-smasher. (My DC was in the same class, 2022.) I'm not an MCPS hater but given that track record, I'm skeptical that there will be any meaningful consequences for a violent sixth grader. |
For sure. The parents need to sue the other family. Imagine your child needing implants at age 12. That’s a lifetime of mouth and tooth problems. Family should be required to pay tens of thousands per year |
Exactly. MCPS is not trustable. The parents definitely should stand up for their kids. |
Families who raise children to brutality assault and batter smaller children for no reason usually don't accumulate much wealth. |
W for FCPS who keeps 6th graders separated from 8th graders. |
Nice try in trying to gaslighting. A fight where two people are kind of wrestling on the ground or have each other in a headlock or pulling each other's hair is far different from a total beat down where someone's teeth are knocked out. That kind of thing does happen but is not okay and should not be normalized. |
The 8th grader needs to be sent to Blair Ewing. Behavior such as this should never be tolerated. Let her parents figure out her education. MCPS can meet their obligation to provide a free education at Ewing. If the parents don't like it, they can pay for private where ever the child is accepted. There needs to be real consequences for actions like this.
I hope the 6th grade parents speak out. Share what happened and what consequences MCPS provided. |
Was a black child the aggressor |
yes. |
My kids went to Frost a few years ago and we thought the principal was excellent. He’s been there a long time. It’s not his fault - and I do hope they sue the aggressor’s parents and remove him. But please don’t lump this principal in the mess that is MCPS. |
New principal this year. |
DP. I am not new to anything. This was not a fight. Or a similar fight, whatever that means. o need to downplay what appears to be a very serious incident. I would press charges against this student and sue for all medical and dental and associated PTSD damages. Let's see if this MS student is suddenly "reassigned" and shows up at a school near you. |
Get lost and stick to the events here. |
What new principal? The letter came from Dr. Joey Jones, who has been at Frost for years. |
This is all false. I know Laura through her kids and she put years in at FCPS. Her youngest was switched to a private a few years ago but until then all of her kids went to fcps. And she is super tight with her neighbors. What a weird thing to lie about. |
