MCPS Teachers Not Being Payed?

It's a technical software and is the responsibility of the Chief Technology Officer.

Yeah Ivon is doing nothing and probably works from home watching TV and walking her dog frequently. You are right! MCPS admin and central sometimes is being run like a mafia with the law of omertà. A lot goes on and gets swept under the rug or covered up. Sad but true. I hope everyone eventually gets paid.

So let me get this right. MCPS can’t pay their staff correctly or provide adequate supplies to last an entire year but they can come up with enough money to have Colin Kaepernick come and speak to the administrators this morning? His presentation couldn’t have been cheap. Not a good look, MCPS.

I heard from one of the teachers that didn't get paid correctly over the summer they got a $500 'thank you' for the lack of timely pay on Friday.

Paid (payed is not a word.)

They played the teachers by not paying them.

Indeed. We teachers got "played". I'm grateful for the $500 token of appreciation for not walking out on the job. At least give us the whole damn pie and not a slice! These mofohs took out taxes!!

Paperback wasn't paid for his talk to mcps, only travel and expenses covered (it was in Bethesda Magazine's daily email ages ago).

If your employer pays you, they have to take out taxes. I hope you are not a teacher

They can arrange it so that after taxes the amount to the employee is $500

-former teacher.

+1. Yes, they did and that was wrong. Especially because when I finally got paid for my summer work it was one big check ( instead of the four smaller checks I would have gotten had I been paid on time) and amount of taxes taken out was MASSIVE. I cried. The *almost* five hundred paid is a fraction of what I lost in taxes taken out of my one summer pay check. This is NOT resolved for me.

Kaepernick was not paid for his appearance. It was a marketing promotion for him.

I wish they had done that, but I’m still appreciative of the $500 before taxes.
