The only people who care about sock length are the people who care about style. That is not remotely synonymous with "high anxiety" or "live most of their life online" or "consider what other people think in every small decision." In fact it is opposite of at least two of those things. (And fwiw you are definitely giving both "high anxiety" and "lives most of life online" with your nasty comment.)

OP wants something that will work that is at least somewhat fashionable. No-show socks are not fashionable. It isn't a big deal, wear whatever socks you want. Or don't wear socks at all. But no-show socks are out.

Yes, middle-aged woman should definitely be wearing these:

I’ve seen middle aged women wearing these socks. I would not say they look great or are fashionable. I would say that it’s clear they are trying very hard to seem youthful.

Seriously.

You realize the whole reason things are in or out is because the fashion industry needs to make money, right? Just wear classic stuff that fits your body type, OP.

And ignore the people who claim to be fashion mavens (advice about cerulean sweaters notwithstanding).

But wear what you want?

OK they may be "in" but they look hideous. Do you mindlessly follow whatever "influencer" tells you to do?

+1
I pity anyone who actually takes "fashion" advice from some of these nitwits.

I have both of these; they are comfortable and work with a lot of outfits dressy and casual.

I wore these Rothy sneakers that are really cute and you don’t have to wear socks with them, you can throw them in the washer/dryer at home. Wear them all over Europe for two weeks super comfortable.

I’m a 55 year old mom who just traveled cross country for an active vacation. I packed my trusty Walmart tiered cotton dress (I have 5) and wore with Samba-like Reeboks from Sierra with non show running socks. The Reeboks come in Barbie pink & royal blue. Very comfortable and on o e travel day, I walked 4 miles.

Can you post a link to the dresses?

This looks very out of style.

NP. Those of you making this claim sound ridiculous. Middle-aged women aren’t going to wear crew or tube socks like teenagers. Stop trying so hard to look hip that you actually look absurd. No-show socks are perfectly fine.

They can pry the no-show socks from my cold, dead feet. Tube socks looks absurd and the summer tan lines from wearing them look even more ridiculous.

You will die of heat stroke in those in Europe in the summer!

Please stop. Bombas socks are not fashionable. Period.

I have seen a few boomers wearing these and I can barely contain myself. I try not to judge people by what they wear, truly. But the try hards are just the worse. And the boomer ladies, with their funky glasses, short hair, and these socks just need to stop.

Do you mean boomer as an age group or state of mind? Because my 80 year old parents love their long crew socks, and it’s not because they are the current trend.

+1 Boomers and aspiring dads have been wearing the white new balance with crew socks since forever. Soooo fashionable!

I actually see them everywhere and I think they’ll cute so yeah I guess I’m following them, but it’s not mindless because I don’t wear those ugly tennis shoes that everybody’s wearing.
