Sneakers With Dresses - Recs

Anonymous
Need some recs here. Have never done the white sneakers with dresses thing but I am traveling to Europe and will be walking a lot in hot weather. Plan to wear a lot of shift and sun dresses, but need a cute/comfy pair of sneakers to go with them. I used to love Supergas but they're outdated now. What is a cute, comfortable sneaker with a slimmer profile? I'm 45 years old so nothing too trendy - looking for classic. Maybe Tretorn??

Second question - do you wear socks? If so, please rec a pair of low cut socks that stay in place.

You are 45. No one it Europe is going to look at you and go, "Oh lala, what a gorgeous woman wearing stylish trainers."

Also no show socks are hopelessly out of date.

Wow you are not a nice person. How sad for you.

Honestly these are really comfortable and they’re waterproof too

I just wear new balance. But I want to hear about the no show socks alternatives. Can someone post pictures of dresses with sneakers AND socks?

I wear tube socks with my tennis skirts so I'm out of the no show trend there, and fit in with the teens. But I wouldn't know how to do that with what OP wants to do.

NP. May sound (read) harsh, but they're right.

Look at Darn Tough's website under no-show socks.

I like these: https://soludos.com/products/sneakers-womens-the-ibiza-leather-colors-oasis-white

These socks are comfy and stay in place great but are not completely no-show with all shoes: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FXDO0HW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
If I want totally no-show I wear Keds socks but I don’t think they’re the comfiest. They do sometimes slip but are usually pretty good.

All comfortable, all work with dresses. No socks.

Thanks - so helpful! Love the Isabel Marants. Will check them all out.

And to the other PP, I am not trying to get anyone to tell me Ooh La La. Traveling with my kids who will get plenty of those, not my time anymore. But I still keep myself up and try to look ok even at my ripe old age

I bought black gingham ribbon laces for the coolway sneakers and get lots of compliments from strangers on them.

It's very American to feel that just because a woman is post 30 they have to totally give up and be frumpy. It's not about electing ooh's and ahh's - it's about keeping some fashion sense and care. I love an older woman with some fashion flare.

Love these Soludos. Are they comfortable? Do you wear them sockless, or with the amazon ones you linked?
