China is not concerned about Iran, they are happy the US is preoccupied. And I think the US passes on Taiwan. TSMC is already moving their fabs out anyway, which is their only value add.

Iran can make it impossible for ships other than to China's to pass through. They can constantly harrass or comandeer ships passing through. A responder also pointed they also have have rail leaving the country on land to China as well.

Iran lacks the military capacity to effectively oppose most regional powers and all global powers. Attacks against their vessels would merely result in even further degradation of whatever minor military capability Iran still has, and would hasten the fall of the regime. They might hit a few unarmed merchant vessels initially, but then that'd be the end of that little experiment in further adventurism.

Not sure how you get that translation. More accurate would be that the chips from TSMC are the only strategic concern of the US. Move the fabs (already started) and the US doesn’t care.
