Milestone birthday and almost no one remembered

If it makes you feel any better, i got three beautiful flower arrangements from 3 of my best friends for my milestone birthday . We don’t normally exchange presents or flowers and i didn’t send anything to them and they don’t expect anything from me and they won’t send anything to each other. Hopefully they never send me anything again.

They only sent flowers this year because my life is an actual train wreck and my husband is a d-bag and they’re trying to make up for that and keep me just on this side of a nervous breakdown. So maybe the upside is that they feel like you have a great family who will make your day amazing without their intervention?

I don't know anyone who had friends throw them a party like they're 10.

You must not have friends or live in an urban area. It's totally standard to have your friends surprise you with a party. I went to 5 since January of this year.

I planned my own 40th and had a great time! You have to toot your own horn sometimes and remind people that you are important. My husband is not a planner and I’ve accepted that by now.
